Communalism

What is a communalism?

Communalism is an ideology that leads to the destruction of any nation and blights the democracy as well.
Explained:
Liberal communalism: The ideologues of liberal communalism spread ideas like- interests of our people are different that of ineterts of those people. In other words, it is the ideology that says that the secular goals(non religious or non spiritual goals) of one religious community are different from any other religious community.
Communalism: It is the ideology that says that the secular goals of one religious community are different from other religious community. But also it extends itself and says that secular goals of a community which doesn't belong to our religion is antagonistic to the secular goals of our own community.
In short communalism in its any form creates a situation of “US vs Them”.
Sometimes we confused communalism with communal riots. Communal riots are not communalism, however it is the result of the communalism, which has been spreading in the region of communal riots. Keep it in mind, that communalism is an ideology which divides any society into numerous sub-groups. One sub-group hates other because of the hatred that has been escalated by the ideologues of communalism and the hatred goes to such an extent that even a small fight or any other petty issue can turn into a communal riots.
However, we should keep in mind that merely differences of religion doesn't lead to communalism, rather religious narrow mindedness does. (As the black people and the white people are the reality of life and they don't lead to racism, however narrow mindedness does lead to). As the differences among religions are reality, so do the religious issues. However, we can resolve all such religious issues by give and take methods, which itself would stop religion to become a way of political mobilisation. Religion should always be our private affairs and politics should not be mixed with it.

DEVIL'S ADVOCATE

Right now i am reading Devil's Advocate: The Untold Story by Karan Thapar.

He the famous Indian journalist, however the style that has been cultivated in him is of London journalism. He started his career from the Times, then he started working with T.V. He has a vast experience of interviewing National and International personalities. After sudden Death of his wife, Nisha, he came back to India and started his career here, in India. He has worked in many shows and one of the most famous was DEVIL'S ADVOCATE of CNN IBN. The book tells you the story which his interviews do not tell. He has mentioned the art of interviewing and try to get answers even if the person who is being interviewed does not intend to answer.
Personalities he has interviewed: Kapil dev, Amitabh bacchan, sachin Tendulkar, Rajiv gandhi, Benajir Bhutto, Atal ji, Advani ji, P.V narasimha rao, Jayalalithaa, Barack Obama, Narendra Modi and many others.
One big story was his interview with India’s current PM Narendra modi back in 2007. Narendra modi couldn't handle the Interview for more than 3 minutes and walked out.
The book is full of experiences of the challenging life he has been living. One incident was mentioned when he became the reason for the situation when two countries, Libya and Nigeria, were about to break their relations.
Overall, this book should be in the category of Must read.
Devil's Advocate: The Untold Story

How to Win an Indian Election

How to Win an Indian Election

This book will let you know, “How political parties play their game”.
The book is written by Shivam Shankar Singh, who worked for BJP and congress for their election campaign.
Mr. Singh has an insider's view about the political parties and have mentioned it in the book.
AS per the book, political parties always find a group of people which can be easily manipulated through fake messages and already persistent division in Indian society such as religion, caste etc.
New trend is to target voters through fake what's app messages, social media posts. And most of us believe when we find a message or post which is based on the wrong facts but somehow somewhere support the feelings we already have. This whole thing make people vulnerable.
Your electricity bill shows your name, number and bill. Alone from your bill, a few things can be traced about you:
  1. Your caste from your Name(70% chances of correct identification)
  2. Your contact - you will be add in a group that has a propaganda to spread some kind of information.
  3. Your economic status: if you are rich, your bill will be high.
If this much data is found, it is easy to know what will influence your opinion.
If some kind of messages will be send continuously to a person for around 3 months, then that person starts believing them.
In alone Karnataka assembly elections, BJP had 20000 whats group to spread such information/messages to influence voter. It does not mean that only BJP does it. All the political parties are doing this, but BJP is ahead in the race.
The book talks about the time period when the writer was working with Congress. They used the trick and changed the name of the CM candidate from Maharaja Amrinder singh to captain Amrinder singh, as Maharaja does not appeal to common man for vote bank but an Army captain does.
Now the trend can be seen of biased news channels. The Book has mentioned the name of news channels and tells why are they biased. E.g: If Republic bharat is pro-Bjp, there is a reason behind this. The biggest investor of Republic bharat is Rajeev Chandrashekhar, who is an MP from Bjp and the vice chairman of BJP south India. Again, i am saying, it does not mean that only BJP does it, all the political parties do it, but BJP is ahead in the race. (as writer has experience of working with mostly BJP except the Punjab elections, he is talking about his own insider's view).
The book has revealed many such truth, which any political party would not want you to know.
So, believe me, if you are thinking that you voted on the basis of what you think, you are so wrong. The reality is, you voted on the basis of what you are made to think.

WHY IS BJP GOING TO WIN THIS ELECTION
Results are not final till yet(2:00 Pm, 23 of May) but as BJP is doing so well, it is clear that BJP is going to win the Election.
Now let’s see How and why BJP is going to win this Election:
  1. Some strong decisions Of Modi: Surgical strike and Airstrike in Pakistan, India-china standoff in Doklam and Improving India’s ranking in ease of doing business are the areas where BJP wins the heart of many People. Although, demonetisation was the failure and RBI was against it, BJP communicated it to People so well that People still thinks Demonetisation has done something good for the Nation, although BJP has stopped talking about it and not letting the reports and government figures on Demonetisation come out as it will reveal the truth. Apart from it, the Most important thing that supported for BJP was its call to the people to Vote in the name of Nation and strikes on Pakistan helped it to make people see that only BJP would do such things. Although some schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana and the excellent work done by the Ministry of roads and development cannot be ruled out.
  2. If not Modi, then who? : This was the message that has been spreading throughout the campaign period. The same message that i first noticed was from the News channels, who were propagating a debate of Modi vs WHo? It is clear that last 5 years of Modi administration did not fulfill its promises it made during 2014 election campaign, and Many people were not happy with this. But the debate “Modi vs Who?” was making people feel or showing the image that there is not a single powerful leader, who can lead the Nation, other than Modi.
  3. Opposition’s failure to give a face: It is clear that there was a lack of consensus in opposition about who is going to be the PM candidate from their side. Mayawati, Mamta, and Rahul, all were dreaming to become the PM in 2109.
  4. No United opposition: Failure of opposition to come forward as a united front. Congress was not the part of SP-BSP joint front. Same was true for the AAP and Congress in Delhi. Even many opposition parties were fighting election alone. If we see the Vote share of NDA from 2014 Loksabha elections, it was around 46%. The BJP alone was at 33% of vote share. So, It is clear that 67% of People did not vote for BJP and 54% of people did not vote for NDA. Opposition should have thought it through and come as united front to take down Bjp. So, it is their failure that they did not do so.
  5. Lack of Leadership in Congress: As among the opposition, it is only congress has a all India level reach. If the There is no united front, it clearly shows the lack of leadership or leadership crisis in congress. Congress should leave the Nehru-Gandhi family and try make congress a democratic party first and choose its leader on the basis of Merits and stop creating Merits for the leaders on the basis of a Family.
  6. Delay in preparation: BJP started its preparation for the election quite early. But the congress, only started to prepare when the Elections were a few months away. Although they came up with NYAY scheme, but People at the bottom level were unheard of it. Even where People know about it, in Rajasthan and MP, they said that Congress has not fulfilled its promise to give loan waiver it promised months back in State elections, so how could they believe that this time it would. Again you can put it as lack of leadership.
  7. BJP was promoting MODI, so does opposition: Although BJP did talk about the things that have went wrong in the Congress rule, but it also spread their propaganda too. BJP properly advertise itself. In case of opposition, the elections, as they saw it, were not to elect the PM, but to remove one. They too talked about what they will do, if voted to power, but the frequency of doing this was low,as many BPL had no information about the NYAY scheme. All they were forcing themselves to talk about BJP and last 5 years.
  8. Polarisation: BJP successfully played its Hindu card and united Hindus as its Vote Bank. Even in UP, people left their Caste consciousness and Voted for Bjp. Media played its role in polarisation. Since 2018, T.v news channels were showing the Program such as : Ali vs Bajrang Bali, Hindu vs Muslims, Hindutva, debates on Ram mandir. So, media too played a role to spread hatred on communal line.
  9. Modi as A super star: Since 2014, many media channels have been showing Modi on news channels day and night. Whatever Modi did was the headline, even the Puja, his dressing sense, sleeping hours, mongo stories, among others. This created an image of a Hero or messiah among the general public. In short, it all helped Modi to gain fan following in a same way as a Movie does for an Actor.
  10. Reach of the Political party: Bjp is way ahead in this. On twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, BJP has outnumbered any other political parties. Even Modi, himself, is among the Most Popular person on Social media. Apart from this, Namo App has been reached to more than one Crore People.
  11. People Voted for Modi, Not for BJP: BJP would not have gained this mandate, if it was not for Modi. Modi’s Popularity has benefited the BJP.

Just a random HELP

Just got a small incident added in chapter of my life today!
Two ladies, at R k Asharam metro station, in their 40s were helplessly looking for the someone, but it was just me and two or more other guys, all unknown to them, to get off the metro. Only i was happened to turn towards them to reach the place i was destined. One of the ladies said to other that bhaiya might help.
I was clueless about what they were talking.
One of them came forward and said they lost her 8 year old girl one station back as the girl was in her misfortune to miss to enter the train on time. Girl did not have the mobile phone either. She was helpless and did not know what to do?, where to go? And whom to ask?
First i myself was clueless, how can i help them? The 8 year old could be any place by now, between Jhandewalan and Noida City centre or between Jhandewalan and Vaishali. Still i asked her to keep calm and go to the security or metro police for the help.
"I cannot leave the place as we both are looking for her in every metro", said she.
I could understand their situation and what if the 8 year old come over when they were not around?
"okay you stay here, and i would bring the help to you..... Just stay here and keep calm." said I. With no clue, i was going to get a help and suddenly a thought struck me. I took my phone out of my pocket and called somebody to whom i was about to meet few minutes back, before the ladies stopped me.
It took for a while and the whole team of SCTOs and checkers was there, behind me to help them. They found the girl sitting somewhere at the very first place, Jhandewalan, waiting for her mother to come. Both the ladies said thank you to me and i thanked the people who came over to help. Again the mother of 8 year old thanked me, while other asked, "who are you?.... I mean you were able to bring the staff here to help us...... What you do?"
"I am just a person, who brings luck to people's life!" said I and left.

One life is not enough

One Life Is Not Enough

The book is about the real life events, lived by India's ex-foreign minister Mr. K. Natwar Singh. The book cover events from Pre-independence era(few events of Mr. Singh's childhood) till the Mr. Modi's swearing ceremony(when he invited SAARC nations to his swearing ceremony). once you cover at least two chapters, you would not resist yourself from completing the Book. However You would find that Mr. K. Natwar Singh was close to Nehru-Gandhi family and that brought fortune to his career as Indian Diplomat in INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICES. Book covers so many important events like Indo-china War, liberation of Goa from portugal and international politics thereafter, Nehru period and diplomacy, Indira's period and diplomacy, and Rajiv's time politics and diplomacy. Finally book covers the events of Natwar singh's political life and end of his political career after volcker case.
The Book gives insight on -
  • Indian Diplomacy from era of Nehru to Sonia gandhi
  • emergency period and criticism faced by India at National and International level.
  • Afterward of emergency.
  • Assassination of Indira and Rajiv, Causes and Afterward politics.
  • Dr. Manhohan Singh's time, when India's relation with other countries was on downward trend.
  • Volcker case- though the case was of corruption, but it also shows how our own friends in politics turn their face when odds are against us.
I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars and put it to good to be read category.
