Right now i am reading Devil's Advocate: The Untold Story by Karan Thapar.
He the famous Indian journalist, however the style that has been cultivated in him is of London journalism. He started his career from the Times, then he started working with T.V. He has a vast experience of interviewing National and International personalities. After sudden Death of his wife, Nisha, he came back to India and started his career here, in India. He has worked in many shows and one of the most famous was DEVIL'S ADVOCATE of CNN IBN. The book tells you the story which his interviews do not tell. He has mentioned the art of interviewing and try to get answers even if the person who is being interviewed does not intend to answer.
Personalities he has interviewed: Kapil dev, Amitabh bacchan, sachin Tendulkar, Rajiv gandhi, Benajir Bhutto, Atal ji, Advani ji, P.V narasimha rao, Jayalalithaa, Barack Obama, Narendra Modi and many others.
One big story was his interview with India’s current PM Narendra modi back in 2007. Narendra modi couldn't handle the Interview for more than 3 minutes and walked out.
The book is full of experiences of the challenging life he has been living. One incident was mentioned when he became the reason for the situation when two countries, Libya and Nigeria, were about to break their relations.
Overall, this book should be in the category of Must read.
