WHY IS BJP GOING TO WIN THIS ELECTION
Results are not final till yet(2:00 Pm, 23 of May) but as BJP is doing so well, it is clear that BJP is going to win the Election.
Now let’s see How and why BJP is going to win this Election:
- Some strong decisions Of Modi: Surgical strike and Airstrike in Pakistan, India-china standoff in Doklam and Improving India’s ranking in ease of doing business are the areas where BJP wins the heart of many People. Although, demonetisation was the failure and RBI was against it, BJP communicated it to People so well that People still thinks Demonetisation has done something good for the Nation, although BJP has stopped talking about it and not letting the reports and government figures on Demonetisation come out as it will reveal the truth. Apart from it, the Most important thing that supported for BJP was its call to the people to Vote in the name of Nation and strikes on Pakistan helped it to make people see that only BJP would do such things. Although some schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana and the excellent work done by the Ministry of roads and development cannot be ruled out.
- If not Modi, then who? : This was the message that has been spreading throughout the campaign period. The same message that i first noticed was from the News channels, who were propagating a debate of Modi vs WHo? It is clear that last 5 years of Modi administration did not fulfill its promises it made during 2014 election campaign, and Many people were not happy with this. But the debate “Modi vs Who?” was making people feel or showing the image that there is not a single powerful leader, who can lead the Nation, other than Modi.
- Opposition’s failure to give a face: It is clear that there was a lack of consensus in opposition about who is going to be the PM candidate from their side. Mayawati, Mamta, and Rahul, all were dreaming to become the PM in 2109.
- No United opposition: Failure of opposition to come forward as a united front. Congress was not the part of SP-BSP joint front. Same was true for the AAP and Congress in Delhi. Even many opposition parties were fighting election alone. If we see the Vote share of NDA from 2014 Loksabha elections, it was around 46%. The BJP alone was at 33% of vote share. So, It is clear that 67% of People did not vote for BJP and 54% of people did not vote for NDA. Opposition should have thought it through and come as united front to take down Bjp. So, it is their failure that they did not do so.
- Lack of Leadership in Congress: As among the opposition, it is only congress has a all India level reach. If the There is no united front, it clearly shows the lack of leadership or leadership crisis in congress. Congress should leave the Nehru-Gandhi family and try make congress a democratic party first and choose its leader on the basis of Merits and stop creating Merits for the leaders on the basis of a Family.
- Delay in preparation: BJP started its preparation for the election quite early. But the congress, only started to prepare when the Elections were a few months away. Although they came up with NYAY scheme, but People at the bottom level were unheard of it. Even where People know about it, in Rajasthan and MP, they said that Congress has not fulfilled its promise to give loan waiver it promised months back in State elections, so how could they believe that this time it would. Again you can put it as lack of leadership.
- BJP was promoting MODI, so does opposition: Although BJP did talk about the things that have went wrong in the Congress rule, but it also spread their propaganda too. BJP properly advertise itself. In case of opposition, the elections, as they saw it, were not to elect the PM, but to remove one. They too talked about what they will do, if voted to power, but the frequency of doing this was low,as many BPL had no information about the NYAY scheme. All they were forcing themselves to talk about BJP and last 5 years.
- Polarisation: BJP successfully played its Hindu card and united Hindus as its Vote Bank. Even in UP, people left their Caste consciousness and Voted for Bjp. Media played its role in polarisation. Since 2018, T.v news channels were showing the Program such as : Ali vs Bajrang Bali, Hindu vs Muslims, Hindutva, debates on Ram mandir. So, media too played a role to spread hatred on communal line.
- Modi as A super star: Since 2014, many media channels have been showing Modi on news channels day and night. Whatever Modi did was the headline, even the Puja, his dressing sense, sleeping hours, mongo stories, among others. This created an image of a Hero or messiah among the general public. In short, it all helped Modi to gain fan following in a same way as a Movie does for an Actor.
- Reach of the Political party: Bjp is way ahead in this. On twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, BJP has outnumbered any other political parties. Even Modi, himself, is among the Most Popular person on Social media. Apart from this, Namo App has been reached to more than one Crore People.
- People Voted for Modi, Not for BJP: BJP would not have gained this mandate, if it was not for Modi. Modi’s Popularity has benefited the BJP.
